General information
The Catedral ski resort is located at 20 kilometers
(12 miles) from the city of Bariloche in
Argentina. It is the most developed ski resort
in South America and offers all what's necessary
to enjoy the most unforgettable vacations. One
of its outstanding characteristics is the great
variety of options for entertainment and the intense
nightlife, which is a tradition for students and
tourists from Argentina and all over the world,
who come here in search of ski and fun.
Its slopes cover a distance of 65 kilometers (41
miles) and are chosen for innumerable national
and international competitions. It has 32 lifts
(adding Alta Patagonia and Robles Catedral), which
can carry up to 22,000 skiers per hour. The recent
acquisition of artificial snow generating machines
guarantee smooth descents all over the mountain.
The slopes, which are accessible by means of the
lifts, are situated between 1,050 and 2,050 meters
above the sea level.
One of the innovations recently presented to
the skiers is the enlargement of the sextuple
chair lift by 1,100 meters, completing a total
distance of 2,300 meters. Besides, a new high-speed
quad was set up starting from the point where
the aforementioned chair lift finishes and arriving
at Punta Nevada at the summit, after a journey
of 900 meters.
